Holders Orlando Pirates will host newly promoted Milford FC and Kaizer Chiefs will host TS Galaxy in the Carling Knockout round of 16, after the Premier Soccer League made the draw in Johannesburg.
All 16 Betway Premiership clubs enter the competition at this stage. Mamelodi Sundowns will host Marumo Gallants, the side Pirates beat in last season’s final.
Pirates won the trophy last season with a 1-0 win over Marumo Gallants after extra time in Polokwane, Relebohile Mofokeng scoring the winner. Milford won promotion to the Betway Premiership in June.
Chiefs went out in the round of 16 last season, beaten on penalties by Stellenbosch FC. This time Stellenbosch travel to Durban City.
Last season the Premier Soccer League paid the winners R6.85 million, the runners-up R2.85 million and each losing semi-finalist R1.35 million. The winners also play a PSL All Star XI, picked by a fan vote, in the Carling Black Label Cup.
