Red Arrows beat Kaizer Chiefs 3-2 in a penalty shootout at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Friday 23 October and go through to the group stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.
Kaizer Chiefs won the return leg 1-0 through a Bradley Cross header, which levelled the tie at 1-1 on aggregate. Red Arrows had won the first leg 1-0 in Ndola, and they won the shootout 3-2.
What the result means
The second preliminary round is the last round before the group stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, so the shootout carried Red Arrows into the 2026/27 group stage and put Kaizer Chiefs out.
