Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Put has named a 30-man squad ahead of the two-legged encounter against Botswana in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The squad comprises 4 goalkeepers, 11 defenders, 6 midfielders and 9 forwards, with veteran midfielder Khalid Aucho included for a farewell appearance following his recent announcement of his retirement from international football.
Aucho, who currently plays in Ethiopia, has been recalled for an emotional send-off after more than a decade of service to the national team.
Goalkeepers and defenders
Veteran goalkeeper Denis Onyango, who plays for South African side Mamelodi Sundowns, leads the goalkeeping department alongside Kingdom Osayi, David Udoh Akpan and SC Villa’s David Lukwago.
The defensive line-up features Abdul-Azizi Kayondo, Jonathan Gift Odongo, Algeria-based Rogers Torach Ochaki, Nathan Asiimwe, Majub Toto, Kenneth Semakula, Gavin Kizito, Herbert Achayi, Toby Sibbick, Herbert Bockhorn and Hilary Mukundane.
Midfield and attack
In midfield, Aucho is joined by Bobosi Byaruhanga, Baba Alhassan, Allan Oyirwoth, Joseph Seremba and Abdoulaye Sissako.
The attacking department includes United States-based Sadam Masereka, Denis Omedi, Allan Okello, Travis Mutyaba, Kelvin Boateng, Rogers Mato, Arnold Vula, Frank Ssebufu and James Bogere.
Botswana double-header
Uganda will host Botswana at Hoima City Stadium on 14 November before travelling to Botswana for the return AFCON 2027 qualifier on 17 November.
The Cranes head into the double-header following a 1-1 draw against Tunisia in Rades last month and a 1-0 victory over Libya in Hoima.
