Kataka FC 3-4 URA FC
Uganda Premier League, matchday 10, Wednesday 4 November 2026

The Tax Collectors surrendered an early two-goal advantage and later trailed 3-2 before substitute Abraham Tusubira scored a late winner to secure all three points for Sam Ssimbwa’s side.

Two-goal lead lost before half-time

URA made a flying start, taking the lead in the 4th minute through Joshua Letti Lubwama, whose long-range free kick took a slight deflection before beating Kataka goalkeeper Ali Mugaya.

Four minutes later, Moses Aliro doubled the visitors’ advantage, tapping into an empty net after connecting with Isma Mugulusi’s cross from the left flank.

The visitors continued to threaten, with Mugaya forced to punch away another dangerous free kick from Lubwama in the 28th minute before Kataka cleared the resulting corner.

However, the hosts gradually found their footing and fought back through Rashid Shawahna and Ali Ssentamu, who both scored to restore parity before half-time.

Lempani penalty completes the comeback

With the game level at 2-2, Ssimbwa introduced Godfrey Ssekibengo for Norman Namanya in the 62nd minute as URA sought to regain control of the contest.

Kataka responded with two substitutions four minutes later, bringing on Jamadah Mulimila and Samuel Watuwa for Ssentamu and Marko Tenyi respectively.

The changes were followed by a breakthrough for the hosts, who were awarded a penalty in the 68th minute. Richard Lempani stepped up and sent the URA goalkeeper the wrong way to complete Kataka’s comeback and give his side a 3-2 lead.

Tusubira’s late winner

With URA trailing, Ssimbwa made further changes, introducing Laban Tibita for Mugulusi in the 75th minute before replacing Aliro with Tusubira six minutes later.

The Tax Collectors fought back to level the contest before Tusubira struck the decisive goal in the 85th minute, finishing off a move involving Nelson Ssenkatuka to seal a dramatic 4-3 victory.

Kataka pushed for a late equaliser, but URA held on through four minutes of added time.

Table and next fixtures

The result moved URA to eighth place in the Uganda Premier League with 13 points, level with Blacks Power, who hold the head-to-head advantage following their earlier 3-2 victory over the Tax Collectors in Bukedea.

For Kataka, the defeat extended their winless start to life in the top flight following promotion. They remain 17th in the standings with 3 points.

URA will next travel to face Kitara FC on 7 November before the international break, while Kataka are scheduled to host Entebbe UPPC at Hamz Stadium on 19 November.

KCCA make it six in a row

Elsewhere, KCCA FC maintained their impressive form with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Maroons FC at the Phillip Omondi Stadium.

The Kasasiro Boys took the lead in the 6th minute through Derrick Basoga’s own goal following a delivery from Achai.

Jackson Nunda inadvertently doubled KCCA’s advantage in the 70th minute when he turned Ashraf Mugume’s delivery into his own net.

Mugume then completed the scoring five minutes from time, converting Lazaro Bwambale’s assist to seal a convincing victory for the hosts.

The win is KCCA’s sixth consecutive league victory and lifts them to fourth place with 19 points.
