Young Africans came from behind to beat Mashujaa FC 2-1 in the NBC Premier League on Tuesday 27 October, earning three points in their first match since the departure of head coach Manqoba Mngqithi.
Mashujaa took an early lead at KMC Complex through Crispin Ngushi in the 7th minute. Yanga responded through Peter Shalulile, who equalised to send the teams into half-time level at 1-1.
Mzize seals the comeback
Substitute Clement Mzize scored in the second half to complete the comeback and secure victory for the hosts.
The result gave interim coach Simo Dladla a winning start as Yanga looked to recover from their 2-1 defeat to Simba SC and a goalless draw against TRA United.
The victory moved Yanga to 22 points, leaving them second in the league standings, two points behind leaders Simba as the defending champions continued their pursuit of the top spot.
