Race Coast has signed an agreement with Total Performance Data to supply real time GPS tracking and sectional timing at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth, Hollywoodbets Durbanville, Hollywoodbets Greyville and Hollywoodbets Scottsville.
Both parties announced the agreement on 25 September 2026. A GPS device is carried in each runner’s saddle cloth, and the system transmits speed, stride, distance, position and time data live while the race is being run.
What changes for a race reader
Sectional timing splits a race into parts rather than leaving it as a single finishing time. The figures are produced for each runner in the field and for the field as a whole, so a horse that finished behind the winner still leaves a set of numbers behind it.
Race Coast and Total Performance Data both put all four racecourses live and fully operational later in 2026. Hollywoodbets Kenilworth and Hollywoodbets Durbanville are in the Western Cape, and Hollywoodbets Greyville and Hollywoodbets Scottsville in KwaZulu-Natal.
The races at Greyville and Kenilworth
Hollywoodbets Greyville stages the Hollywoodbets Durban July and the Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge. Hollywoodbets Kenilworth stages the L’Ormarins King’s Plate and the World Sports Betting Cape Town Met.
Race Coast runs all four racecourses, and the tracking agreement covers each of them, which is where the same figures will come from on those days and on an ordinary Wednesday card in South African sport.
