The bid by Malawi’s Masters FC to have their FDH Bank Premiership match against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets played in the evening at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday, 1 November 2026, has hit a snag.
The Super League of Malawi (SULOM), which runs the elite league, has declined the proposal for the Lilongwe-based outfit to welcome the Blantyre-based Bullets at the facility at 6pm, citing security concerns surrounding evening fixtures.
SULOM has put its foot down that the FDH Bank Premiership match will take place at 3pm and not 6pm, as suggested by the match hosts.
“Given the outstanding reports and security concerns surrounding evening fixtures, SULOM has decided to maintain the previously communicated kick-off time of 15:00 hours,” SULOM said.
The club’s proposal for an evening kick-off came after their match against Karonga United on 18 October was abandoned in the 78th minute because of a power outage that lasted 25 minutes.
The visitors, who were trailing 4-1, refused to continue with the match, prompting SULOM to award Masters three points and a 3-0 win.
