Kenya’s Hit Squad is back in domestic action as the 2026 National Boxing League keeps the country’s fighters busy through the season.
The National Boxing League remains the backbone of the sport at home, and the 2026 edition marks 45 years of organised league boxing in Kenya. Regular bouts across the season give club fighters the ring time they need, and they keep a steady pipeline of talent flowing toward the national setup.
The Hit Squad’s most recent test came at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Amina Martha became the first Kenyan boxer in the ring, facing England’s Lauren Mackie in the women’s bantamweight on 24 July, while Robert Okaka and skipper Mogunde also carried the flag. The results were mixed, yet the exposure against top opposition offered clear lessons.
That experience now feeds back into the domestic game. Coaches will use league nights to sharpen the fighters who travelled and to blood the next group pushing for national selection. For Kenyan boxing, steady competition at home is the surest route back toward continental and global honours.
Where to bet: Kenyan boxing fans can back the bouts with licensed local bookmakers such as Betika and SportPesa, with odds set in Kenyan shillings, KES. Boxing markets usually cover fight winners and method of victory, so compare prices before the next card. 18+. Gamble responsibly.
