Malawi’s Creck Sporting Club coach Ernest Chirwali Mtawali has ruled out complacency when his side face fellow FDH Bank Premiership club Civil Service United in Lilongwe on Saturday.
The game will take place at Civo Stadium in the capital city, kicking off at 3:00pm Southern African Time.
The former Malawian midfielder told his club’s media that his players needed to perform at the highest level throughout the match to prevail over the civil servants.
“There is no chance of underrating Civo. My players are working hard, and nobody is going to do them a favour. We need to go there and get maximum points,” Mtawali said.
The Creck Sporting Club mentor challenged his players to prove that they have turned the corner by overcoming Civil Service United and to build on last week’s 1-0 victory over Red Lions.
“The guys deserve it. They have been working hard since the break and have never rested. We have to go out there and give our best shot. Civo is an experienced team that has been around for a long time, but we will give our best,” he said.
Creck out for revenge
The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder has since urged his players to draw lessons from last week’s encounter against Red Lions, especially the need to keep possession.
Creck will be out for revenge after losing 1-0 to Civo in the first round of the FDH Bank Premiership, while also seeking to build on their winning momentum.
Civo, on the other hand, are smarting from a 1-0 away loss to leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets last Sunday at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre.
