Nigeria made 148 at NCF Oval 1 in Abuja and held Uganda 1 run short, taking top place in Sub Regional Africa Qualifier C. Both sides go through to the Africa Regional Final.
Isaac Danladi made 47 for hosts Nigeria. Uganda captain Riazat Ali Shah made 60 and Uganda closed on 147, with the chase coming down to the last ball, where Juma Miyagi was run out.
How Qualifier C finished
Nigeria won all 5 of their matches to take the title on home soil and finish top of Sub Regional Africa Qualifier C. Uganda took second place with 4 wins from 5. Zambia were third, Mozambique fourth, Lesotho fifth and The Gambia sixth.
Finishing first and second took Nigeria and Uganda to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Regional Final, which is played next year. Both had already secured their places before this match, which decided top spot. Uganda had beaten Mozambique by 10 wickets earlier in the group.
More from the group and the rest of the week is on the Uganda sports news page at AXN Sports.
