Uganda’s Cricket Cranes head to Tanzania for the final leg of the ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League B with their qualification hopes firmly on track.
The tournament runs from 6 to 19 August in Dar es Salaam, bringing together six teams. Uganda face hosts Tanzania, Italy, Hong Kong China, Singapore and Bahrain in a decisive round that will shape the next stage of their journey toward global cricket.
Uganda arrive top of the standings after eight wins and two no results from ten matches, giving them 18 points and a two point cushion over second placed Italy. The Cricket Cranes need three victories to guarantee progression, a target well within reach given their unbeaten record so far.
Riazat Ali Shah retains the captaincy after leading the side through that strong run. He heads a 14 man squad that carries genuine belief, and head coach Steve Tikolo has made clear the team will not settle for doing only the minimum required to advance.
The stakes are high for Ugandan cricket. Continued progress in this pathway keeps the country in the conversation for future global events, and strong showings against varied opposition help the players sharpen ahead of tougher assignments to come.
Where to bet: Ugandan cricket fans can find match and tournament markets with licensed bookmakers Betway and SportyBet, priced in Ugandan shillings, UGX. Availability depends on the fixture, so check the sportsbook before play. 18+. Gamble responsibly.
A composed campaign in Dar es Salaam would mark another step forward for a side that has quietly become one of Africa’s most consistent associate teams.
