Highlanders goalkeeper Aaron Ngwenya has earned his first-ever senior international call-up after being named in the Zimbabwe Warriors’ 24-man squad for the crucial back-to-back 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification matches against Equatorial Guinea.
The shot-stopper’s standout domestic form for Bosso has been rewarded by head coach Ramon Catalá, who expanded his goalkeeping pool by selecting Ngwenya alongside Martin Mapisa, Future Sibanda and Nelson Chadya.
Squad selection and key returns
Catalá has blended local standouts with high-profile overseas-based talent for the double-header. The squad welcomes back attacker Tinotenda Kadewere and defender Jordan Zemura, both of whom missed previous fixtures through injury.
They rejoin established international names like Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Marshall Munetsi, Premier League-linked youngsters and Motherwell forward Tawanda Maswanhise.
