Warriors AFCON 2027 qualifying
The Warriors opened the campaign under Català, their new coach, with a 3-2 win over Sierra Leone, then lost 2-1 to DR Congo. That left them second in Group E on three points after two rounds. Matchdays three and four are played from 9 to 17 November 2026 and the group finishes in March 2027. Zimbabwe meet Equatorial Guinea twice in November: away on 12 November 2026 at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in Yaoundé, Cameroon, a neutral venue, then at home at the National Sports Stadium in Harare.

The Warriors at the Africa Cup of Nations
Zimbabwe have played at six Africa Cup of Nations finals, in 2004, 2006, 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2025, and have gone out in the group stage every time. At AFCON 2025 in Morocco they finished bottom of Group B with one point. They did not qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
Home stadium
The National Sports Stadium in Harare is the Warriors’ home ground. After years of home games outside Zimbabwe, the team returned there on 28 September 2026 for the qualifier against DR Congo. After crowd incidents at that match, CAF ordered Zimbabwe to play its next home international behind closed doors. In October CAF allowed up to 10,000 spectators at the ground for two matches, and ZIFA has put tickets on sale for the home qualifier against Equatorial Guinea. Our latest news below follows each CAF decision.
