Antoine Semenyo has become the most expensive Ghanaian footballer of all time after completing a move to Manchester City.
The forward joined the English champions from Bournemouth in a deal reported at around 72 million euros, according to widespread reports. That fee pushed him past Mohammed Kudus at the top of the list of costliest Ghanaian players, a marker of how far Semenyo has climbed in a short space of time.
The move rewards a run of strong Premier League form. Semenyo grew into one of the more dangerous attackers in England last season, and his blend of pace and directness fits the demands of a top club chasing trophies on several fronts. Now he must prove himself in a squad packed with internationals.
For Ghana, the transfer carries weight beyond the price tag. The Black Stars have leaned on Semenyo as a central figure, and a starring role at City would only sharpen him for national team assignments. His progress offers younger Ghanaian players a clear model of steady development leading to a major move.
The challenge now is game time. Big transfers can stall when minutes are hard to earn, and Semenyo will need to force his way into a demanding rotation. How he handles that competition will define whether the move becomes a true career high.

Ghanaian supporters will watch his first months closely, hopeful that the record fee marks the start of a strong chapter rather than a difficult adjustment.
