Tanzania begin their AFCON 2027 qualifying programme against Guinea Bissau at the Amaan Complex in Zanzibar on 25 September, then travel to Casablanca to meet Madagascar and Ghana.
Clifford Ndimbo, the communications officer of the Tanzania Football Federation, set out the programme at a briefing in Dar es Salaam on Friday. Tanzania face Guinea Bissau at the Amaan Complex in Zanzibar on 25 September, and Ndimbo said preparations for that match are complete.
The squad leaves for Casablanca the following day. Madagascar have chosen Morocco as the ground for their home fixture, so the second qualifier, on 29 September, is played there rather than in Antananarivo.
Tanzania are already at the 2027 finals
Tanzania is one of the three countries staging the 2027 finals, and CAF guarantees Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda places at those finals as co-hosts. The three still take part in the qualifying campaign, and CAF states that in a group containing a host only the highest placed team outside the host country qualifies.
A friendly against Ghana to close the trip
Tanzania stay in Casablanca afterwards for a friendly against Ghana on 4 October. The friendly is the last match before the squad breaks up.
Tanzania play at home first and then travel, but the second match is an away fixture being staged on neutral ground, which means the side spends the back half of the window in a third country playing an opponent who is also away from home.
