The Ghana Football Association has put Kim Lars Björkegren in charge of an interim Black Stars technical team for the November double-header against Somalia, and the search for a substantive head coach goes on.
Ibrahim Tanko and Godwin Attram are the assistants in the interim team and Fatawu Dauda is the goalkeepers’ coach. Björkegren is also the coach of the Black Queens. Further technical and support staff are still to be named for the double-header.
Who made the appointment
The association made it in consultation with the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, on the recommendation of the Black Stars coach search committee. That committee is still working on a substantive head coach, and the interim arrangement covers the November window.
What the GFA has said about the permanent job
Henry Asante Twum, the association’s communications director, has said the substantive appointment follows the two matches against Somalia.
