Sabastian Sawe set the men’s marathon world record of 1:59:30 in London on 26 April 2026, and Nairobi will host the 2029 World Championships. Kenyan marathon results 2026
Sheila Chepkirui won the New York City Marathon on 1 November in 2:24:36, with Hellen Obiri third and Edna Kiplagat fourth; Benson Kipruto, the defending men’s champion, was fourth. Amos Kipruto won the Chicago Marathon on 11 October in 2:01:09, with Sharon Lokedi second and Brigid Kosgei third in the women’s race. In Amsterdam on 18 October, Nicholas Kipkorir and Patrick Mosin took second and third in the men’s race.
