The NBC Premier League returns on 14 August, with defending champions Yanga leading a fresh title race in Tanzania.
Young Africans retained the crown last season and now begin the defence on the road, travelling to Namungo at Majaliwa Stadium in Lindi on 15 August. Simba open a day later away to Kagera Sugar at Kaitaba Stadium in Bukoba, while Azam also start their campaign away from home. The fixtures set up a demanding opening for all three contenders.
The season calendar already has one date circled. The Kariakoo Derby between Yanga and Simba is scheduled for 13 December, the fixture that stops the country and often shapes the mood of the title chase. Both clubs will want form and confidence heading into that meeting.
Beyond the big two, the league has grown more competitive. Azam remain a serious force, and smaller clubs have shown they can take points off the giants at home. That depth makes early away trips tricky, and dropped points in August can linger long into the season.
Yanga carry the weight of expectation as champions, but Simba will be desperate to reclaim top spot after watching their rivals lift the trophy. The margins between the two are thin, and squad building over the window could prove decisive.

The opening rounds will offer the first real read on who has recruited well. For now, the country waits for the whistle and another season of Kariakoo rivalry.
